Located in the middle reaches of the Xiangjiang River and Hengshan County incentral Hunan, it breeds a splendid revolutionary history, bears therich historical and cultural heritage of the revolutionary years, andis an important red cultural base in China. On July 19th, the SouthChina Agricultural University Outstanding Chinese TraditionalCultural Instructor Studio organized a red root-seeking group toHengshan to continue the red root-seeking activity, to furtherappreciate Comrade Mao Zedong ’s revolutionary thoughts, inheritthe red genes, and perceive the fine traditions of revolutionarypioneers.

In the early morning, after several hours of traveling, the root-seekinggroup finally came to the long-awaited Hengshan County. Everyonepresent felt the solemnity and sacredness of this red base. In aninstant, this land ignited passion in our hearts. The Xunfan grouprecites Chairman Mao's poem "Qinyuanchun · Changsha" alongthe Xiangjiang River, and laughs and sings along the way. "Withoutthe Communist Party, there would be no New China", "MyMotherland and Me", "Singing the Motherland", "Songsof the Strong Army" and "Golden Ideal" ... The surgingsinging reverberated on the riverside.

Beginningof the route: Peasant Movement Memorial

On the verge of the Xiang River, the scenery is elegant, and theMemorial of the Peasant Movement in memory of Comrade Mao Zedong'sleadership of a large number of peasant revolutionary movements seemsto be performing the revolutionary deeds of the past in front of us.With morning dew and evening cream, Comrade Mao Zedong conducted aten-day visit and inspection in Hengshan, leaving a gloriousfootprint. The root-seeking delegation followed Chairman Mao'sfootsteps and visited the investigation. The teammate Ye Mingminggave everyone an exciting party lesson here, back to that difficulthistorical story. Comrade Mao Zedong led the peasant movement, whicheffectively promoted the rapid development of the nationalrevolutionary movement. Through the wonderful party lessons, everyonedeepened their understanding of the peasant movement and could nothelp but marvel at the significant impact of the peasant movement.

When Comrade Mao Zedong came to Hengshan to inspect the peasant movement,he lived in a temple-style building and wrote the "InvestigationReport on Hunan Peasant Movement", which left a splendid pagefor the victory of the Chinese revolution. This temple-style buildingis the famous Kangwang Temple. Under the leadership of Mr. Shi Yu,everyone deeply studied Chairman Mao ’s important thoughts on thepeasant movement, perceive the simple life in the revolutionary era,and review the period of immortal and brilliant revolutionary legend.

Endof exploration: Mao Zejian Martyrs Memorial Hall and Martyrs Cemetery

"Borninto death and passed through danger, the flames of revolution spreadto Nanxiang. The husband and wife were blood-stained, and ageneration of female heroes stayed fragrant." Ai Yong MaoZejian's poems were widely circulated on the red hot land ofHengshan. He is the cousin of Comrade Mao Zedong. The young MaoZejian was oppressed, and later under the influence of his cousin MaoZedong, he actively engaged in the revolution and dedicated his lifeto the revolutionary cause.

At the Mao Zejian Martyrs Memorial Hall, Mr. Shi Yu vividly explainedthe revolutionary story of Comrade Mao Zejian. In the difficultyears, she spearheaded the enemy's situation and attacked the enemy,but was unfortunately arrested in a battle. In the face of thetorture of the enemy, she would rather die unrelentingly, and bebrave, just 24 years old. Mao Zejian ’s loyalty and sincerity haveinspired generations of revolutionary party members to work hard, andthey have saved a lot of power for the rise of the Chinese nation.While mourning, Comrade Mao Zedong wrote an elegy for him, "Dyingfor the people, although the death is still glorious."

Afterwards,the Root-seeking delegation went to the Mao Zejian Martyrs Cemeteryto pay tribute to the Mao Zejian Martyrs' tomb and held a heavymourning ceremony for the Mao Zejian Martyrs, expressing deepcondolences to the Mao Zejian Martyrs.

After passing through the hometown of heroes, the ancestors have gone, buttheir spirits have survived in our hearts, increased therevolutionary fighting spirit of each of us, and constantly inspiringus to cast the Chinese dream and realize our dreams in life. After aday of practical study, we have all benefited a lot, appreciate thedeeds of great people, relive the ambitions and ambitions, therevolutionary thinking of the party is deeply imprinted in our minds,and the trip to Hengshan will be a great baptism of our hearts andspirits.
